The Walking dead: season 1 locations

S1E1 "Days Gone Bye"

The gas station where Rick searches for gas and encounters the Teddy Bear Walker.  With the gas station and intersection filmed here, the location still looks very similar to the show except the area around the gas pumps has been updated.

This location is in the northern portion of our touring area.

The location where Shane and Rick have lunch and Shane dips his fry in Rick's ketchup.  Then they receive the call over the radio and head off to respond to the police chase.  This area looks very similar to the show with some major updates to the parking lot and some changes in building paint.

This location is at the farthest east of our touring area.  

*** Extra driving time required as not many locations are filmed this far east.

The hospital that Rick wakes up in and see the "Don't Open Dead Inside" doors.  he then wanders out the back door into the parking lot where he see piles of dead bodies.  This location has been torn down since filming, but the building next door where the helicopter was sitting and military equipment was parked is still standing.

After leaving the hospital, Rick finds himself at a park and encounters Bicycle Girl.  He then takes her bike and continues towards his house to locate his family.  This location looks very similar to the show except for the trees and bushes have grown significantly.

Rick's house where he finds that his family is no longer there, but the family photo albums were missing so he feels they are still alive.  This location looks very similar to the show except some painting has been done.

Rick then leaves his house and finds himself at a house that Morgan and his son were staying in.  This house looks a little different as the house has been painted, the porch was expanded, and the white picket fence was replaced with a black metal fence.  But the view across the street where Morgan's wife was walking looks very similar to the show.
